What will we do?
Discover the Fin del Mundo viewpoints, Paleo-Fardes, the famous Marchal gullies, the valleys that connected the Iberians and Romans with ancient Lliberis, the medieval cave fortresses where Berber mercenaries settled, and much more on a route accessible to only a few.
This route, steeped in geological and human history, starts in Guadix and takes us to the Miradores del Fin del Mundo (Viewpoints of the End of the World), where we can observe and understand how the great valleys of the Olla de Guadix and Geoparque de Granada were formed.
We will descend into the Alhama River Valley where the villages that mark the route from Julia Gemella Acci to Iliberis are located. We will visit the Carcavas Natural Monument
with its impressive formations, the dovecote carved into the Marchal cave, and later we will visit the Visitor Centre of the Medieval Fortress Caves of Cortes and Graena, which we will visit. These caves are listed as Sites of Cultural Interest and are closed to the public, but we will have the opportunity to enter them privately and imagine how the Muslims who arrived on the Iberian Peninsula as mercenaries in the service of the Caliphate of Córdoba lived and fought in the 10th and 11th centuries.
Tour for all audiences to understand the Geopark and cave territory first-hand. Go where only a few dare to go!
Guadix The city of caves is much more than that! With our Gymkhana, we will discover ‘Monumental Guadix’, offering you a historical tour from the Iberian past to the exuberance of the Baroque, passing through one of the most dazzling Roman remains in Andalusia.
Wandering through the old Muslim medina, between decadence and gems of Granada’s Mudejar architecture, the Royal Hospital commissioned by the Catholic Monarchs and its dazzling Cathedral, according to tradition the first diocese on the Iberian Peninsula founded by Saint Torquatus.
