- Discover, on a unique 4x4 route through the most spectacular corners of the Granada Geopark, the viewpoints of the End of the World, the Paleo-Fardes, the famous gullies of Marchal, as well as the valleys that, centuries ago, connected the Iberians and Romans with ancient Iliberis. Let yourself be surprised during this active tourism experience by the medieval cave fortresses where Berber mercenaries settled, and much more on a route that only a few have access to.

4×4 excursion through Granada Geopark – Southern Sector
What will we do?
Discover the Miradores del Fin del Mundo (End of the World Viewpoints), the Paleo-Fardes, the famous Cárcavas del Marchal, the valleys that connected the Iberians and Romans with ancient Ilíberis, the medieval cave fortresses where Berber mercenaries settled, and much more on a 4×4 route that only a few can access.
This route, steeped in geological and human history, starts in Guadix and takes us to the Miradores del Fin del Mundo, where we can observe and understand how the great valleys of the Guadix basin and Geopark of Granada were formed.
We will descend into the Alhama river valley, where the villages that mark the route from Julia Gemella Acci to Iliberis are located. We will visit the Carcavas del Marchal Natural Monument with its impressive formations, the dovecote carved into the Marchal cave, and later we will visit the Visitor Center of the Medieval Fortress Caves of Cortes and Graena, which we will visit. B.I.C. closed to the public and which we will have the opportunity to enter privately to imagine how the Muslims who arrived on the Iberian Peninsula as mercenaries in the service of the Caliphate of Cordoba lived and fought in the 10th and 11th centuries.
