“A TOUR OF THE SIERRA NEVADA NATURAL PARK FULL OF SENSATIONS, DISCOVERIES AND EXPERIENCES”
Exploring the Cahorros Valley in Monachil is not only a journey through breathtaking landscapes, but also an immersion in the rich history, flora and fauna of the region.
What will we do?
This excursion offers nature lovers a unique opportunity to explore the biodiversity and geology of Andalusia in detail. The route is circular and divided into two stages: a visit to the canyon and a walk along paths through fruit and olive groves until we reach the village.
The Monachil River
From the village of Monachil, the walk along the river becomes a sensory journey that awakens all the senses. Whether admiring the natural beauty, listening to the whisper of the water or delighting in the variety of colours reflected in the river, this experience is an invitation to immerse yourself in the very essence of life in nature.
Our guides will lead you along the trails and share historical facts and detailed knowledge about the local flora and fauna in an enriching experience that goes beyond mere walking, turning you into an observer of birds of prey such as eagles, falcons, and vultures, while from the banks of the Monachil River it is possible to spot mountain goats that find refuge on the steep slopes of the valley.
The Suspension Bridges
The presence of suspension bridges along the route adds interest to the excursion. These bridges, which have become icons of the Cahorros Valley, not only offer an exciting way to cross the gorges of the Monachil River, but also provide unique opportunities to observe the geomorphology of the region from elevated perspectives.
